School Nutrition Program
Overview of Our Nutrition Program
At Sir Winston Churchill, we believe that every student should have access to healthy food each day. Our nutrition program is open to all students and supports a wide range of dietary needs.
We offer a halal food option every day so that all students can take part.
What we provide
- Breakfast (5 days a week):
Students can choose from items like breakfast sandwiches, protein smoothies, bagels with cream cheese, breakfast burritos, and egg omelets. - After-school meals (5 days a week):
Meals may include chicken stir fry, BBQ chicken with vegetable rice, pasta dishes, quiche, and Swedish meatballs with rice.
All meals are balanced and designed to help students feel full, energized, and ready to learn.
How the Program Works
Our nutrition program is run by a strong and caring team.
- Over 20 staff members help plan and prepare food.
- About 15 student volunteers support the program and gain valuable learning experiences.
We are always working to grow and improve the program. Our goals include:
- Serving more students
- Offering more food choices
- Providing hands-on learning for students
- We are also working toward updating and expanding our kitchen space to better support the program in the future.
Funding and Support
Our nutrition program is made possible by generous community partners and organizations, including:
- President’s Choice Children’s Charity
- Brantford Bulldogs
- Tastebuds
- COBS Bread (Centennial Parkway North)
Their support helps us provide healthy meals to students every day.
Supporting Our School Community
Our main goal is simple: no student should be too hungry to learn.
- The program is open to all students
- No sign-up or registration is needed
- Students can access food in a safe, welcoming way
Because of this open approach, more students are using the program and benefiting from it.
We are proud to offer a nutrition program that supports every student, every day
